23 Things - Thing #3

7&1/2 Habits
Out of the 7 & 1/2 habits #2 accepting responsiblilty for your own learning and #7 &1/2 Play are my easiest. I have always loved learning and when it comes to the techie things PLAY is my best way to learn. Learning and play go together for me, my curiousity is natural, it is a strength that makes me a stronger teacher. When I work with students my curiosity is something I like to model, helping students to develop their curiosity helps them enjoy learning which is part of life long learning.

Number 3 viewing problems as challenges would be my most difficult. Although I often view problems as a chance to learn, my first reaction is frustration. I also get annoyed at the time that needs to be invested in solving some problems. My latest experience would be, that my wireless network quit working - yes it is a chance to learn but the time invested was frustrating. _____ number of hours later (I don't want to admit how long) I'm back online and my home network is working but to be honest I can't tell you why because my original settings didn't work and some of the changes don't make any sense to me. Ways to improve?? I need to remember that its fun to learn new things (see my strengths :), take a deep breath, and don't worry about the time so much.

After I finished assessing my own "habits", I looked at the posts others had made on Thing 3. I found it interesting that you chose the same strengths and weaknesses that I did! There's always room for improvement, right? We can still learn new tricks, I hope! Keep up the good work!
